Moral Monday spreads to Wilmington, NC:
Above: Sybil West of Wilmington, NC, who was arrested at the second Moral Monday action in Raleigh on May , 2013, speaks on behalf of Moral Monday arrestees who live in the Wilmington area. The Forward Together movement, led by Rev. Dr. William Barber of the North Carolina NAACP, organized 13 rallies on Aug. 28, 2013, the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington. One rally was held in each of North Carolina’s 13 congressional districts.
Below: Tracy Ledford Deyton is the librarian at Mitchell High School in the mountains of North Carolina. She is also the daughter of Lee Roy Ledford, former Mitchell County Commissioner and the sister of Tommy Ledford, current member of the Mitchell County School Board.
Duke historian and author Tim Tyson was asked to represent the North Carolina NAACP at a rally organized by the people of Burnsville, NC.
